Food for thought

Another adoptive mom and friend sent this link to me today. I found it to be very interesting and felt sorta sad after reading it. I understand her point of view, yet I'm not sure I completely agree. In the comments section, Kendra makes valid points as well.

And it got me wondering, how many of you find this offensive?

WOW, I'm speachless....give me a moment....I think My own personal reason for liking it is simply because it made me think of our process every bit important if not more than as if she were indeed inside me........but I not once thought of it from another perspective.....I need a sonogram of my heart I guess cause I know she is there for sure....Thanks for sharing the link.

I read her blog once.. and that was it. She has every right to have her own feelings and opinions, but I feel they are angry and sad. I feel like she defines her life as an adoptee and nothing else. Her bashing of the many rituals of the IA world is hurtful. I don't thing that these things are anything but silly and fun. I find it odd that someone could take such personal offense to them.

I don't read her any more.

I've seen that image many times and never thought it offensive. Her post certainly made some interesting points. I don't agree with everything, but it was thought-provoking, to say the least.

To me, a great thing is that we can all have our opinions about things. I don't have to agree with everything but she can certainly share her perspective. She makes some good points but, of course, there is always more than one way to look at things.

We ALL seek out that which makes us comfortable. Every now and then, it is good to be made uncomfortable. It keeps us thinking and growing.

I am not offended by the ultrasound picture but I don't like it. I didn't read her whole post but I agree its sort of odd to have a name of a country in there, I've always felt that.
